One of the greatest English poets Robert Browning had a vivid imagination that allowed him to turn any topic no matter how mundane or lofty into unforgettable verse. In his writing he brought to life the personalities of a wide variety of characters and gave the poetry of his day new immediacy vernacular vigour and psychological complexity.
