SELECTED WORKS OF WORLD CHINESE POETS：POETS FROM CHINA 2021-2025

<p>This volume brings together representative works by Chinese poets from mainland China Hong Kong Macau and Taiwan written between 2021 and 2025. As part of the Selected Works of World Chinese Poets series it showcases the vitality of Chinese-language poetry in its native context while reflecting the diverse realities of contemporary society.</p><p></p><p>The project was initiated by the Chinese Poetry Society under The Poetry Hall bilingual quarterly and published with the support of Chicago Academic Press. From over three thousand submissions approximately one thousand poems were carefully chosen through multiple rounds of review. The selection captures a wide range of themes and styles: from reimagined traditional imagery to explorations of urban life from intimate reflections on emotion to sweeping meditations on history technology and human destiny.</p><p></p><p>These works reveal both continuity and innovation. Rooted in the Chinese language they inherit the spirit of classical poetry while embracing experimentation. Some writers turn to the past with reverence others to the future with speculation; some expose social realities with sharpness while others rediscover warmth in everyday details. Together they form a rich panorama of Chinese poetic creativity in the early 2020s.</p><p></p><p>This volume balances artistic quality intellectual depth and historical resonance. It presents both established voices and emerging talents aiming not only to document a moment in literary history but also to offer a record of enduring cultural value.</p><p></p><p>Published alongside three companion volumes-Overseas Poets Collected Sequences and Selected Classics-this book is part of a larger effort to map contemporary Chinese poetry worldwide. Each volume has a distinct focus yet contributes to a shared vision: a multidimensional tapestry of voices memories and imaginations.</p><p></p><p>We extend gratitude to all who made this project possible especially to the poets whose dedication keeps the poetic spirit of the Chinese language alive. Poetry is the homeland of language and a dialogue across time and space. May this anthology serve as a bridge-linking poets and readers China and the world and the present moment with the future of Chinese poetry.</p><p></p><p class=ql-align-center><strong>前 言</strong></p><p></p><p class=ql-align-right></p><p class=ql-align-justify> 本书取名《世界华语诗人作品精选：2021-2025中国诗人卷》，旨在汇集中国诗人于2021至2025年间创作的最具代表性的诗作。作为系列丛书的重要组成部分，它系统梳理并呈现了2021至2025年间中国大陆及港澳台地区华语诗人的杰出创作成果。这些诗作不仅承载着个体生命的深刻体验与美学追求，更折射出当代中国社会的多元面貌与文化精神，展现了华语诗歌在母语土壤中孕育出的独特生命力与创新能量。</p><p class=ql-align-justify></p><p class=ql-align-justify> 本书由华人诗学会（华诗会）旗下《诗殿堂》汉英双语季刊发起，并委托芝加哥学术出版社承担征稿、编撰与出版工作。自征稿启事发布以来，我们共收到来自中国大陆、香港、澳门及台湾地区的三千多首投稿作品。虽然这些作品质量都很高，但要全面录用，将增至厚厚三大本，显然不可行。因此，我们进行了严格的筛选。经过多轮审读与遴选，最终收录约千首作品。这些诗歌题材丰富、风格迥异：既有对传统意象的当代重构，也有对城市生活与乡土记忆的深情凝视；既有对个体情感的细腻捕捉，也有对时代变迁的宏大叙事。诗人们或以古典韵致书写现代心灵，或以锐利笔触剖解现实真相，或在语言实验中拓展诗的边界，或在日常诗意中重拾人性的温暖。</p><p></p>
