From 1974 to 2002 the Society of Biblical Literature published an experimental journal for biblical criticism a scholarly collection of papers and monographs on selected topics. This edition the 33rd from 1985 focuses on Ren Girard and the subject of biblical studies. Included are monographs on Job as a scapegoat (by Girard) prophecy sacrifice and repentance in the story of Jonah Christian morality and the Pauline revelation and evaluations by other authors of current and previous works.
