From 1974 to 2002 the Society of Biblical Literature published an experimental journal for biblical criticism a scholarly collection of papers and monographs on selected topics. This edition the 39th from 1987 focuses on Biblical narrative from both an oral (speaking) and aural (hearing) perspective. Included are monographs on Peter''s denial as polemic or confession Kelber''s breakthrough text as interpretation in Mark and after and hermeneutical reflections on the Gospels as well as responses from other scholars.
