Semm Yubah

<p>Set against the backdrop of tribal clashes and revenge killings the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the rise of Arab nationalism colonialism and two World Wars <em>Semm Yubah: An Arabian Son's Journey </em>recounts my grandfather’s path from farmhand to merchant to an influential figure in the development of the Arabian Peninsula’s Eastern Province.<br /><br />It is the story of how a 16-year-old Arabian boy in 1915 separated from family and home became a man; how his sojourn began with him accompanying his father by camel caravan through a merciless desert for the sake of their family’s survival; and how a few years later he was left on his own to make his way in the world. It was a journey that would forever change the course of his life and alter the destiny of his family.</p>
