Senses Therapy

Sensory therapy also known as sensory integration therapy or sensory processing therapy is a type of treatment that aims to help individuals with sensory processing difficulties or sensory processing disorder (SPD). SPD is a condition in which the brain has difficulty receiving processing and integrating information from the senses such as sight sound touch taste and smell. This can lead to difficulties with sensory processing motor skills attention and behavior. Sensory therapy involves a range of activities and techniques designed to improve sensory processing and integrate sensory information such as swings climbing and tactile play. Sensory therapy can be conducted by occupational therapists physical therapists or other healthcare professionals and it is often used in combination with other treatments such as speech therapy or behavioral therapy. The goals of sensory therapy may include improving attention and focus developing sensory-motor skills and reducing sensory processing difficulties and related behaviors.
