Serendipity berry (Dioscoreophyllum cumminsii (Stapf) Diels) fruit is a wild fruit and commonly found in the rain forest of the South-Western part of Nigeria. The fruit is underutilized and is among the endangered crops found in Nigeria. It contains appreciable amount of natural protein sweetener called ''monellin''. The seed contains high quantity of oil which are made up of unsaturated fatty acids. The book has six chapters which address the threat to extinction of the crop domestication propagation volatile compounds in the oil and chemical compositions of the seed flour and oil. The book tends to provide information on the importance and utilization of serendipity berry and also the need for those living in the area to be aware of the reasons for domestication of the plant and equally for industrial purposes.
