Seroprevalence of infectious diseases

The transfusion of blood or its derivatives has become an essential part for public health providers and therefore for blood banks. For this reason it is currently stipulated that screening tests of blood units are mandatory for the detection of potentially transmissible agents through transfusions which can cause diseases if not identified in a timely manner. The present research is a retrospective cross-sectional non-experimental descriptive descriptive study whose total population consisted of voluntary donor users who attended the Blood Bank of the Coromoto Hospital of Maracaibo in the period July 2019-July 2020 and who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study.
