The practical nature of service charges and their interrelationship with accounting and landlord and tenant law renders the topic a particularly difficult one to be taught on undergraduate courses. Michael Young has however produced a readable and logically ordered monograph on the subject which should enable those in other disciplines to understand the various aspects of service charges and those for whom it is their own discipline to have an accessible source of reference.
