He went on to become sports editor of the Ottawa Citizen a founding father of the National Hockey League he coached and managed seven Stanley Cup winners promoted an incredible cross-country skating tour with Olympic champion Barbara Ann Scott and operated race tracks in Canada and Mexico. His memoirs tell of much of the fun and frustration of life as one of Canadas sporting icons in the first half of the 20th century.
