In 1980 he joined the U.S. Army and became an Airborne Ranger Pathfinder and jungle expert. With the Berlin Brigade he became fluent in German. He received a Writing Scholarship award. Then he worked as an executive compensation administrator.</p><p>In 2004 Clement moved to Florida and became a community association manager. He is married to Lynn.</p>
