Shadow of Treachery

The newspaper photograph was an old one taken during the Second World War. It was an innocent snapshot of a handsome young man in his new lieutenant's uniform. The accompanying article told of his heroism as a British agent within the French Resistance. Side-by-side was a contemporary photograph of the same man now a distinguished elderly gentleman a retired Cabinet Minister and venerated senior politician.<p> However for one aged couple the image of that young man rekindles horrific memories of wartime France.
