Shallow Soil Is A Difficult And Demanding Novel But It Is Also A Rewarding One. Hamsun'S Prose Is Rich And Evocative And His Exploration Of His Themes Is Deep And Insightful. The Novel Is Not For Everyone But It Is Sure To Stay With Those Who Read It Long After They Have Finished.
