About The Book

This book by Chris Bagley is about his troubled childhood with his abusive mother. He did not have many chances growing up and decided that he wants the whole world to know what it was like to grow up in his shoes. The book starts as far back as he can remember; back when he was a small boy and he was adopted along with his younger sister. Little did he know what kind of torturous childhood lay in front of him with his new abusive mother. He starts with himself being a small boy and tells of the many places that he has lived brief encounters with relatives and all the hardships that he had to sort through and deal with along the way. His own grandmother whom he loved very much knew the hardships that he had to deal with and for some reason could not step in and helps him out of it. He tells of running away from home getting into fights at school being put in the place of a man and forced to do work many men do not even do. Eventually his life leading to his having to stand up for his sister who finally returns home from her own bout of child abuse from a woman that had adopted her from their mother. The hardships only made him stronger and he thanks God that he is still alive to tell the story.
