She Gave Birth Not Life

<p>Briant Brown is a writer educator and a teacher living in New York City. He is a native of South Carolina born and raised in a small town by the name Reevseville. He would be the first member to obtain his BA from his immediate family and soon afterward started working with at-risk and special-needs population.</p> <p>Why poetry? That was the golden question. In all honesty it fell in his lap and he would fall in love with the art of it. All it took was one book to be hooked and the journey begun.</p> <p>The poetry book She Gave Birth Not Life is a passionate journey of Briant Brown's life. The title exemplifies a mother giving the gift of birth but not nurturing her seed. Briant never truly had ownership of his life due to the fact his mother was not present. Through the strong connections of others he would grow to love himself and his life. Once he stopped dwelling on his mother's absence he would begin to breathe life as his own.</p> <p>In this book you will find stories about love pain growth and much more. Most important this book is stating no matter the circumstances take ownership of one's life.</p>
