Eight months after the murder of his colleague film student Eric De la Cruz seeks respite in the subtropical beachside town of Carmel California where not long after his arrival learns rumor of a banshee that haunts the home of a respected philanthropist's daughter. It's said that the banshee's scream foretells a death. The following afternoon Eric meets a mutual friend of the unnerved heiress who invites him along with five others to stay for an extended weekend at the manor. That night a shriek awakens the guests and soon after a man is found dead. Everyone in the community is certain except for Eric who finds threatening letters in a drawer counterfeit artifacts in the Dearborn's private collection and glass shards on the beach. With the help of an unlikely friend a maid to the heiress they race to uncover the hoax and reveal the truth behind Melissa's drowning because the banshee has shrieked again and someone else is about to die.
