Shifting Paradigms of Asian Theatre

The present edited volume is an outcome of the fourth year of the Students’ Colloquium - Inter College Meet organised by Department of English Vasanta College for Women Krishnamurti Foundation India Rajghat Varanasi on “Shifting Paradigms of Indian Drama/ Theatre” on 27 February 2020. The book is a compendium of all the papers presented wherein a diverse range of topics are covered from Natyashastra and dramaturgy Asian theatre Indian drama forms and practices and various folk performances like Jatra to the contemporary theatrical discourses and other related fields. Theoretically the papers critically analyse the area from a range of perspectives and methods including aesthetics of theatre myth pedagogy gender issues portrayals of women politics of Sexuality urban spaces identity and body politics and other related dimensions.
