<p>The teacher/trainer/instructor plays an important role in providing competency-based training to enable every student to get a livelihood after the completion of their education. The teacher/trainer refines and replicate the trainees in such a way that they will transform into techno-savvy craftsman who helps them get a job in any reputed sector.</p><p>The instructor must have adequate knowledge and skill in their trade but it is not an indicator that they are equally apt and versatile. To transfer the same knowledge and skills to the trainees up to the same level the D.G.T.(Director General of Training under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship) considering the essential role of the instructor in providing the proper knowledge and skill to the trainees started one year of training program named as Craft Instructor Training Scheme(C.I.T.S). This one-year training program also included a three-month module on the Principle of Training which inculcates the technique of teaching and enables the instructors to know what to teach and how to teach. In one year of training sessions trainee Instructor apart from updating and upgrading his trade skills also learned how to impart systematic sequential and time-bound instruction smartly and accurately.</p><p>This book named Principles of Teaching covers the complete syllabus of the CITS and describes properly all the content of each unit. Some of the important facts though not in the syllabus of CITS are also included in this book for the benefit of the students and upcoming teachers. </p>
