Accepting Sakshat Shiva (Mallikarjuna) as her husband scorning the worldly world and walking as Keshambare Akka is a role model for many devotees and is one of the foremost women poets of Kannada expressing her feelings through vachanas.<br/>Akkamahadevi was originally a spiritual practitioner. Her ultimate goal in life was to join his beloved Chennamallikarjuna. That is what he longed for since childhood. Her words in the form of poetry are the reflection of her longing.</p>
