Show Or Substance Bihar Since 1990

Bihar is a conundrum! It is a state with a long history and people with traditional wisdom yet its problems are complex. There are no easy answers! It was a discussion over tea in Mysore cafe of South Avenue Delhi that led to the start of the book. Both of us worked on intense research on Policy and then finalisation of those researches into matured articles or Policy paper or legislation.    As Biharis we always thought to decode Bihari identity especially when outside Bihar. And how identity has created the entire narrative of backwardness or development? These discussions led towards the creation of this book ""Show or Substance"".  The structure of this book is designed on critical aspects of governance like health agriculture and education. We have used the available credible data to draw a comparison between the two Governments which ruled the state in the last three decades one led by Lalu Prasad Yadav and other by NIt'sh Kumar. We have drawn a conclusion based on data and governance at that point of time. Various policies have been evaluated and a complete analysis of the last thirty years has been attempted by us.    With these words we would like you to travel to our book and explore the journey of Bihar since 1990. It is on the verge of selecting a new Government we are hopeful that our book will provide the necessary guidance to the next Government!
