The Similipal Tiger Reserve is located in the Mayurbhanj district of the eastern Indian state of Odisha. It was established in 1956 as a wildlife sanctuary and was declared a tiger reserve in 1973. The reserve covers an area of 2750 sq. km and is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. It is also known for its unique topography which includes mountains valleys waterfalls and dense forests.
