This collection of autobiographical short stories captures Simon's life as a child in Poland as a teen living in Palestine before the founding of Israel as a businessman in South America losing his fortune when the ship carrying his cargo was blown up by the German navy and then successfully rebuilding his business. The book celebrates his friendship with the artists Botero Matta and Manzur his encounter with Picasso and the many pleasures and joys he experienced throughout his long life.
