Simulation Optimisation Markov Models for Ambulance move-up

In this book we first describe ambulance redeployment problem. Then we use Dynamic Programming Markov Models with one and two ambulances to gain insights into optimal redeployment policies. Next we show an heuristic model using simulation optimisation to find good redeployment policies for real life sized problems. After that we present an IP model which uses the insights from the small models. This model also uses Simulation Optimisation to find the best possible parameters to get the best results.
