Keiko Singh endured a violent childhood of abuse at the hands of her stepfather and drug addict mother. She and her sister Miyoko are taken in by their loving aunt Yoko Hayakwa. While Keiko copes with her pain through singing Miyoko goes down a dark path of drug abuse and crime. When Keiko becomes pregnant she is overcome with anxiety. With Yoko's help Keiko soon meets a record producer named Daniel Kemp who notices her gift for song and signs her to a record deal under the stage name Dove Cloud.
