<p>Commonly heard sentiments suggest that families are the foundation and 'building blocks' of society that they hold nations together and they are necessary for happiness and fulfilment in life. However are they true? What about single people? Are they less important an underclass within society? </p><p><br></p><p>Is marriage a command from God for today? Is singleness a gift from God? This book addresses all of these and many other questions. It looks into the contemporary church at a marriage and family focused culture with the intent of working toward a better biblical understanding of where singleness belongs in God's family.</p><p><br></p><p>What is certain is that God loves and values those who are unmarried or childless or from broken marriages or broken families as much as he does those who are married with children. Yet many single people are alienated from the church.</p><p><br></p><p>The modern Western church is embedded in a society trying to address problems in marriages families and singleness with solutions based on human wisdom. These problems however stem from society turning away from God's righteousness and following our own sinful ways. The message of the cross of Christ provides the only hope for the solutions to be found.</p>
