<p><em>Slave Narratives Volume II: Arkansas Narratives Part 2</em> continues the invaluable WPA Federal Writers' Project effort to preserve firsthand accounts from formerly enslaved men and women. These personal testimonies recorded in the 1930s offer a direct unfiltered connection to America's past-capturing powerful memories of daily life under slavery family struggles labor conditions racial violence and the long road toward emancipation and survival.</p><p></p><p>This section of the Arkansas narratives includes additional interviews that illuminate the diverse experiences of enslaved people across plantations small farms and towns.
