This is a story of the crucial role played by those whom the ultimate victors have tried to erase. This is the story of the democratic forces of the left who helped ignite the revolutionary fire. Even though the Revolution in the end disgorged an autocratic theocracy the Islamists were not the only participants nor necessarily the inevitable winners.
