This book attempts to explain the manufacture of soap in modern soap plant. Describing in detail the raw materials the processes of manufacture and the methods it illustrates by formulae the composition of various soaps together with their mode of manufacture. It also enumerates the various methods of glycerin recovery including the processes of saponification. Finally it provides analytical methods which are of value to control the process of manufacture and to determine the purity and fitness of the raw material entering into it.
