Social Control Order and Urban Delinquency in Cartagena 1886-1920

In Cartagena de Indias for the 1886-1920 period ideas were elaborated with the purpose of improving the living standards of the inhabitants according to the elite besides laws were created which were seen as civilizing inclinations regarding virtues values and honor. The work of the policeman appears since the greatest weight of the social cleansing campaigns falls on him thus the period addressed in this research shows a discourse implemented by the authority for the recovery of the city in the political urban and social aspects.
