Social Impact of Poverty on BPL-Families in Odisha

In a country like India where the wide range of fluctuations in poverty and standard of living of the people prevailing over time. The question of the effects of economic reforms on poverty has come to the fore of public debate since the beginning of reforms. As a result the problem of poverty received the greatest attention with the initiative of economic perspective. But Kalahandi district is one of KBK region of Odisha signifies chronic drought condition high level of food insecurity chronic income poverty resulted periodic allegation of deaths that characterize the social effect this region is a major issue to see the social impact of poverty on BPL-Families. The present study of the incongruous situation gradually revealed circular chains cause and effect relationship. In spite of availing many kinds of governmental supports the poor have remained poor due to lack of caste based interpersonal and inter-group relationship between households.
