Socialism in the Real World

Socialism in the Real World is aimed at readers that have some knowledge and interest in socialism but are unsure how it comes together as a coherent strategy. A number of traditional Marxist and socialist concepts are simplified or reformulated. The 16 short essays do this by focusing on the class struggle as a whole rather than more specific agendas of parties programs platforms and models. The 20th century is the main historical reference point for what capitalism and socialism are how they work and how the peoples struggles have defined them. History and current conditions are not discussed in detail as extended proofs but rather in a short form that allows readers to verify the points being made for themselves. The ideas are applied and adapted to the 21st century. The conclusions take the form of lessons to be learned obstacles to be overcome resources to be used and the conditions for victory.
