Socio-Economic Contribution of Rural Electrification in SNPREthiopia

This research is intended to identify the contribution of electric power in poverty reduction and the benefits of rural electrification to the rural people. The study revealed that rural electrification produced many social and economic benefits such as cost saving both with respect to time and money. It does also have immense contribution in mitigating health problems. The assessment has also shown that the rural electrification tends to reduce deforestation and enhance environmental protection.
