Sociology of Education

A book always speaks and the person who says it is always responsible for the choice of what it exposes for the concepts and theoretical formulations that make up its narrative. Choices that will invariably contribute to the characterization of the work as a whole. [...]. The title of this book Sociology of Education: Updating Themes like every title may not contemplate the intricacies paradoxes and ambiguities that surround the issues that are addressed and developed here. The proposed texts indicate that the theme of the Sociology of Education contains within itself a universe of convergent and divergent processes both specific and general which need to be thought of as part of debates that are in movement and for this very reason in constant dispute and improvement. In this sense updating themes means contributing to this dialogical process that brings sociology and education closer to the learning needs inherent to the human condition.
