The present research aimed to determine the relationship between soft skills and the requirement of the labor market of the collaborators of the marketing and sales area of private universities Tarapoto-2019. The approach was quantitative basic type correlational level with non-experimental design and cross-sectional the population and sample consisted of 18 collaborators the sampling was non-probabilistic two questionnaires were applied as instruments. As results it was found that there is a very low inverse correlation with a correlation coefficient of -0.312 but it is not significant because the p-value 0.222 is greater than 0.05; that is the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted and the Ha is rejected admitting that there is no significant relationship between soft skills and the requirement of the labor market in the collaborators of the marketing and sales area of the private universities of Tarapoto; also it has a dispersion coefficient of R2 = 0.0976; that is 97.976.0976; that is 97.6% of determination.
