In the bustling year of 1927 amidst the rugged landscapes of Vancouver Dhaya resides in a modest weather-beaten shack with her husband Ajit. The air is thick with the scent of coal dust and the distant echoes of a burgeoning city. Dhaya longing for the warmth of her homeland in India yearns to return seeking the comfort of family ties and cultural roots. Yet Ajit harbors dreams of carving out a future in the promising but harsh Dominion of Canada.
