Sola Scriptura or Sola Traditione?

<p>The aim of this book is to investigate the relationship between Scripture and Tradition in the history of the church in the East and the West and attempt to answer the question whether the Orthodox theology of Tradition have offered a solution to the Reformation debate about theological authority? To address this question we will examine various questions such as: Why in the 16th century did part of the Western church determine there was a conflict between Scripture and Tradition? We will also explore how an Orthodox understanding (or early Western understanding prior to the Great Schism of 1054) of the relationship between Scripture and Tradition might help resolve this perceived conflict and contribute to the modern dialogue between the Orthodox and Protestant churches as well as the Protestant and Catholic churches.</p>
