Solano Trindade

Solano Trindade is one of the pioneers and most representative names in Black Literature in Brazil. Even so he is still unknown to the general public. The epic dimension of the Black people''s fight for freedom is part of his work and goes far beyond a merely aesthetic proposal. What is the deepest meaning of freedom for the Afro-descendants? Solano Trindade answers in poems like Zumbi Conversa Sou negro and Canto dos Palmares among others.
