<p><i>The Solitary Warrior</i> (1929) contains a large number of letters by Ruskin none of which has been previously published. They are of special importance and interest: many belong to the middle period of his life and show the influences which produced ‘Fors Clavigera’. They are full of vivid pictures and discuss intimately many fundamental problems.</p>
