A young Suffragette named Valentine Wannop is introduced to Christopher Tietjens a clever and eccentric mathematician who is married to the beautiful but unfaithful Sylvia. Their encounter occurs during a stormy weekend. Valentine and Christopher are about to start dating when he has to report back to his World War One army. Finally Christopher is returned to London while still from shell shock and amnesia. This story addresses time and a pivotal period in history while examining the contradictions inside a civilization dealing with calamity sexuality power lunacy and violence.
