<p>In this his second collection of verse celebration remains a dominant theme of many of the poems a celebration tempered though by the universal experience of loss and grief. </p><p>Thus the verse sequence Chagall at Tudeley is both an appreciation of a great artist's genius and an exploration of the loss that gave rise to it. </p><p>Inevitably perhaps there are a number of Covid related poems and many have a biographical aspect. Artworks form the inspiration for others and philosophical and religious concerns inform others. There is even A Disturbing Encounter with a strange woman in a Cornish churchyard: two in fact!
