Somebody Is Making Kartoffelkloesse for Chicken Scratch Christmas

So you are wondering about this goofy title eh? The first part “Somebody” is a word in the first poem of the book. The poem is based on a Beatles Song and is an “anthem” against school shootings. The middle part “Kartoffelklösse” is from the middle poem in the book. That poem recalls the delicious German potato dumpling recipe my cousin has kept alive in our family. The last part “Chicken Scratch Christmas” is an “ode” to a dance music developed by the Tohono O'odham people of the Southwest and also about not having much but each other at Christmas time.
