Inspiration for things historical came from curiosity about a missing father his maternal grandmothers stories multiple annual trips to the southern Arkansas Ouachita Mountains homestead of his ancestors and extended family but a love of writing as well. Back in 1967 an Arkansas State College history professor added to that inspiration.
