<p>TV vodka sex and the Russian mafia -this is a story from 'the end of history' that brief period of time in the 1990s when it seemed like anything was possible for Russia and the world. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A young American documentary filmmaker travels to Siberia in the winter of 1994. He finds work in Tomsk at a privately owned television station where the staff is young hopeful and ready to contribute to the democratization of their country following the collapse of the USSR.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;He befriends his colleagues and begins a romance with a woman on staff. While he seeks to hide behind his camera and his position as a foreigner his relationship with the TV station and with his colleague becomes an all-encompassing barreling heartbreak. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Equally hilarious sad and romantic <em>Soroka</em> is above all an attempt at capturing a time place and way of life. </p>
