SOUL RISING

I began writing as a way of dealing with overwhelming feelings following a great deal of loss in my life - bereavement separation divorce as well as loss of home and job. It was a struggle to cope with it all and writing was my way of releasing some of the inner pressure I felt. Thus most of these poems were written because I was compelled to do so. I then found myself writing about a wider range of topics on anything which inspired me including the oil painting shown on the front cover. This expanded still further when a friend gave me 5 random titles to see what I could do with them and I found that the words flowed easily. My poems were well received by people who read them a couple were put forward by a friend to be published in a magazine and I was encouraged to publish a book. So here it is!
