Source and use of firewood in the DRC

The main purpose of this study is to find out the origin and use of firewood in artisanal bakeries in Kinshasa. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) being a developing country the destruction of forests is fashionable because it provides wood that is used as the main source of energy. Faced with this reality we decided to conduct a series of data collection surveys to find out the origin and use of this wood in artisanal bakeries. The data collected through the documentation allowed us to highlight the information obtained from the surveys. The results obtained show that 93% of the bakeries do not have forest concessions and use different methods to obtain wood these methods are almost totally informal since only 7% of bakeries obtain wood legally (from companies recognized for the sale of wood).
