This book is an appraisal of Spain''s affirmative action laws on women empowerment and protection and their compliance with the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) stipulations on the principle of equality. Apparently men in Spain experience various levels of rights and freedom violations due to the stringent application of the gender equality and violence laws. Admittedly these laws were effectively enacted to empower and protect women. Granted the protection of men appears utterly ignored; thereby raising questions on the teleological construal of the principle of equality. Hence this author infers that the contemptible stipulations in these laws that regulates their application present evident conflicts with various articles in the ECHR.
