Speculum regale

<p><i>Speculum Regale</i> also known as Konungs skuggsjá or Kongespeilet (The King's Mirror) is a philosophical and didactic work written in Norway towards the end of the twelfth century. This edition published in 1848 includes a contemporary text on the Norwegian church's relationship to the state.</p> <p>This significant work of Old Norse literature provides insights into the political social and cultural values of medieval Scandinavia.
