Speech therapy as a science

The academisation of medical-technical services as part of the Bologna Process is also opening up new perspectives for speech therapy in terms of education training and continuing professional development as well as for professional practice. This book examines the effects of academisation on the profession of speech therapy and highlights the role of research in this process. It also presents the professional status historical development of the discipline and key elements of the Bologna Process. From the perspective of academisation the topics of professionalisation evidence-based practice ethical considerations and quality assurance are addressed.
