Stability of Gold Depth Markers in Plasma facing refractory metals

I wrote this paper en route to completing the requirement for my masters degree while attending the Nuclear Engineering program at MIT. This summarized the work done over the 3 year period of time there under the auspices of Dennis Whyte. The work has since been continued and expanded upon by other graduate students. Interested readers should have a modest background in general physics and nuclear engineering to be able to understand the contents.
