Will and Clair were abused by their father for ten years until Will spoke with a social worker at their school and got them removed from their situation. Now five years later their father is in prison and Will and Clair live together in downtown Minneapolis. Their relationship has developed into something more than just a relationship between siblings but they're happy and after all those years of pain and sadness to them that's all that matters. But then everything falls apart. Clair has a heart attack. Her heart has been damaged by the stress put on it during the years of their abuse. Now Clair must get a heart transplant. Without it her heart will continue to wither and die.
